We can help you find a program that matches your interests regardless of what kind of program you want or need. Over 100 programs are available for IU undergraduates at all campuses through the Office of Overseas Study at Bloomington. If you are unsure where to start, you want to seek help choosing a program or attend Study Abroad 101. You can also visit the Office of Overseas Study for more personalized guidance.
Programs that are offered through our office
There are more than 100 programs offered through the Office of Overseas Study. You can browse all program information and search using filters for country, world region, primary language of instruction and term.
There are two types of programs: IU-Administered and IU Co-Sponsored. It is important to know the distinctions.
IU-administered programs are organized by the Office of Overseas Study on the Bloomington campus. IU selects and orients students and arranges travel, housing, and administration abroad. You pay all fees to IUB, earn direct IU credit and most types of financial aid (excluding work-study and music performance-based scholarships) may be applied to program costs.
Co-sponsored programs are administered by organizations or institutions with which IU partners. Co-sponsored programs include CIEE, CYA, DIS, IES, CIC-London, Florence-CAPA, Cairo, Adelaide, Canberra, Perth and Wollongong. IU selects and orients students, but a program provider or host institution arranges housing, classes and administration abroad. You pay all fees to IU, earn direct IU credit, and may apply most (but not all) financial aid to program costs.
Programs offered by all eight IU campuses
All eight IU campuses offer study abroad programs, which can be accessed through the Big List. You can browse all program information and search using filters for country, world region, primary language of instruction and term. Eligible students throughout the IU system can apply to these programs unless the programs are restricted.
